The release date for Shutter Island has been pushed from October 2nd, 2009 to February 19th, 2010. Apparently this is due to the fact that Paramount has been losing a fucktonne of money in DVD sales, and 2009 has been a particularly bad year for them... They're hoping that by releasing the film in 2010, the economy will have evened out, and they can make more money.
