School has been eating my mind, body and soul lately, so I haven't had time to post anything lately even though tons of stuff has been going on in the movie world.

Most notably:

- Sandra Bullocks blasphemer win of Best Actress in a Drama at the Golden Globes (Stinky!!)
- The bullshit reforms at the Academy Awards
- ...I can't think of anything else right now. BRAINS PRE-OCCUPIED WITH MAH EDUMACATIONZ!!

So anyway, I've been watching tons of movies, doing my Pink Mafia reviews pretty well every week, etc... and I shall at least be posting those from now on. Hopefully when schools done at the end of April things will go back to normal.

"Twenty-two years after the smash hit Three Men and a Baby, Disney has plans for another sequel. Tom Selleck’s manager confirms to EW that Three Men and a Bride is in the works. Selleck, Ted Danson, and Steve Guttenberg played the three bachelors comically challenged to take care of a little girl in the first two movies. WENN first reported that Guttenberg revealed the project and implied that Selleck and Danson were also on board. (Reps for Danson have not immediately replied to requests for confirmation.) The script is currently still being written but Selleck’s manager confirms that the logline, for those who can’t guess, is essentially: The little girl gets married."

"Back in March, Warner Bros announced that it will bring Stephen King's landmark horror novel "It" to the big screen. The novel is set in 1958 and 1985, though the feature version will be set in the present day.

The story follows a group of kids called the Losers Club that encounter a creature called It, which preys on children and whose favorite form is that of a sadistic clown called Pennywise. When the creature resurfaces, the kids are called upon to regroup again, this time as adults, even though they have no memory of the first battle."

"Hollywood power couple Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have broken up after 23 years together.

Publicist Teal Cannady said in a statement the two actors separated over the northern hemisphere summer.

She did not elaborate.

Sarandon, 63, and Robbins, 51, met while shooting Bull Durham, which was released in 1988. They have two sons together, Jack Henry, 20, and Miles Guthrie, 17."

"Actress Brittany Murphy, the 32-year-old starlet who got her start in the movie "Clueless," died Sunday in Los Angeles.

The troubled screen siren and singer went into full cardiac arrest early Sunday and could not be revived, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

It was her beloved mom who discovered her unconscious in the shower, according to the Web site TMZ. When paramedics arrived just after 8 a.m., they immediately began administering CPR and rushed her to nearby Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

She was pronounced dead at 10:04 a.m., Cedars-Sanai spokeswoman Sally Stewart said."

When I heard the news that Brittany Murphy had died... I was shocked, but then thought about the fact that lately she looked like she weighed about 60lbs.. Which either meant anorexia.. or cocaine. Karen Carpenter, anyone?!

That all being said, I loved her.. I thought she was beautiful.. and although she died make some terrible films in her day (Just Married, Little Black Book, Uptown Girls, etc...) she also made some wonderful films, as well.. Two of my favourites are Girl Interrupted and Spun.

Now.. the other thing that's infuriating me is all of the people who think they're cool by having facebook/twitter statuses about how they "miss heath ledger, and not brittany murphy" or that "she was a shitty actor anyways." Like... really?! I hope people say the same about you when you die, betches.. And her deaths not even on the home page of IMDB?! Wtf man!! You guys are RE-TAWDED!

Alright.. I'll end it there. RIP Brittany Murphy.. I loved you, even if no one else I know did.

"According to the Guinness World Records, the actress who brought in the most box-office dollars this decade was (drumroll, please): Emma Watson. Yep, because of her presence in the Harry Potter franchise, Emma's name was attached to over $5 billion in movie-ticket sales.

While Emma might not seem to have the same marquee appeal of her paparazzi-magnet peers, her world-record status isn't so hard to believe given that she starred in the movie with the top-grossing opening weekend in film history. When Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince brought in $394 million on its opening weekend earlier this year, it bested the previous world-record box-office takes of comic-book action movies like Spider-Man and Batman Begins.

Another shocker? Samuel L. Jackson is the highest-grossing actor of all time. According to Guinness World Records' math, with his roles in movies like Pulp Fiction and the Star Wars franchise, plus many voiceover jobs, the Oscar nominee's projects have made more than $7 billion over the course of his career.

Guinness doesn't list a male counterpart to Emma's decade-winning gross, but Entertainment Weekly's PopWatch blog did some handy number-crunching and figured out that another not-so-Hollywood star is at the top: Alan Rickman. Rickman has appeared alongside Emma Watson in the Harry Potter series, and because he's also starred in Love, Actually and Sweeney Todd, the 63-year-old Brit takes the box-office cake."

RIP Roy Disney

Walt Disney's nephew, Roy Disney, has passed away at the age of 79. He inherited the Disney franchise after his uncle passed away in 1965.

"Clifford A. Miller, a spokesman for Roy Disney's company Shamrock Holdings, told the Los Angeles Times that Disney died Wednesday after a bout with cancer.

His father, Roy O. Disney, and uncle, Walt, founded The Walt Disney Co. in the 1920s. Walt was the company's creative genius but Roy Disney's father played a vital role as head of its financial side.

The younger Disney, born in 1930, worked for the company as a writer and producer. But his most important influence was as a Disney shareholder who led two investor revolts.

In 1984 he led a successful campaign to oust Walt Disney's son-in-law from the company. Nearly 20 years later, he launched another successful shareholder revolt against Michael Eisner."

In my opinion, this is the real end of the old Disney we all grew up with and loved. It was never maintained the way that Walt surely would have wanted, but it's definetly going to go downhill now. The end of an era, in my opinion. Sad sad.

I'm still astounding by how much he looked like his uncle. Geez louise!

Fan speculation has been running rampant for the past year. First it was rumored that James McAvoy was a contender until Peter Jackson debunked that rumor.

Review:
500 Days of Summer is like a fairy tale gone wrong… but in a good way. I have never seen any movie that so eloquently captures what it’s like to have your heart completely and utterly broken in 2009. In those 500 days, we are allowed to view the beginning, middle and end to a relationship, and anyone who has ever loved someone knows what that looks like.

The soundtrack is absolutely fabulous with songs from The Smiths, She & Him, Regina Spektor, etc… You really feel the emotions that Tom is going through throughout the film strictly because the music is so perfectly matched with all of the scenes.

The cinematography and writing were absolutely beautiful, and probably my favourite part of the entire film. The split screen between Tom’s reality and his expectations in a particular scene, the dance sequence, the colours, everything.. it was just beautiful to look at. I especially liked the fact that, in terms of colour scheme, they stuck to one colour, blue, which really brought the entire film together, visually.

500 Days of Summer is one of my favourite films of all time, and not because it’s a Citizen Kane or a Godfather, but because it’s so real. And any movie that allows you to relate to it so well, has to be given a chance. So go see it!!!!

Release date for 'The Road' pushed back again

"Eduardo Sanchez and Daniel Myrick are the two men behind the original "Blair Witch Project," which went on to earn $250 million on a $60,000 budget. Speaking to Everything Film Show, Sanchez has now revealed that he and Myrick have now completed all the story details and will soon be pitching their ideas to Lionsgate.

"Our original idea for Blair Witch was to go through all of the periods of the mythology and make a movie about them," said Sanchez. "And we wanted to start at the beginning and do the story of Elly Kedward, the original [person]... The Blair Witch is named after her."

The story may sound like a prequel, but Sanchez confirmed that it will be sequel and will follow up some 15 years after the original film's characters disappeared.

Myrick has previously told BBC News that "it will have some kind of video element in it, but it won't be a first person hand-held movie," adding that none of the original actors will return."

Might be good.. The Blair Witch Project is one of the only movies ever to really actually terrify me... That, and The Ring. :P

First of all, anyone who has seen POTC3 knows that the Fountain of Youth was to be the next direction the plot would go in. Sheesh!

Second, who cares if that's what the next Indy movie was going to be about. How many vampire movies were, and are going to be, released this year? It's not like we haven't been thrown the same plot 16 times in one year before. I guarantee you that both movies will draw just as much attention.. and who says they're coming out the same year, anyway..... We haven't really heard that much about Indiana Jones 5.

Third, wtf is up with all these haterz hating on POTC 3!? THAT WAS THE BEST MOVIE OF THE THREE!!! Shit, guy!

My Review:
This film was a typical Quentin Tarantino movie from start to finish. I have been hearing from a lot of other people who have seen it, that there’s “too much talking.” Well, to them I say “get some taste in cinema”, and instead of seeing something just because Brad Pitt is in it, know what type of genre, etc… that Tarantino typically produces. Of course there’s going to be a lot of talking. No one is going to make a movie that is based strictly on Nazi’s having their heads bashed in. No one with any talent for making a good movie, anyway.
The cinematography was amazing and one of my favourite parts of the entire film. Camera angles, shots, etc, were perfection. The soundtrack to the film was also wonderful. It went perfectly with everything I was watching. Acting and casting were amazing, although I was a little disturbed by Quentin Tarantino’s choice to have Mike Myers make a cameo appearance as a British general. I just felt dirty looking at him. He has a perverted look to his face.
Overall, Inglourious Basterds is a very good movie, if you like that style of film. I don’t think it’s for everyone, so if you’re just looking for some action, or to gaze at Brad Pitt for 3 hours, don’t waste $12.95. If you want to enjoy well-made cinema, then go for it.

"Rob Zombie, the rock musician turned filmmaker, has signed on to write, direct, and produce a remake of the 1958 horror classic The Blob.

Variety reports that funding is in place to make an R-rated $30 million film, and Zombie will complete the script while he’s on tour with his new album this fall. Producers are confident that a distribution deal will be made before the production begins in Spring 2010.

And, oh Lord, please let Henry Higgins and Eliza's father be cast well, too.. There's so much riding on the casting alone. Ugh!!!!!!
